I’m just extending on my ideas from an earlier post, I was trying to break down the steps between where I am at the moment, helping a few models looking for modelling work, promo girl jobs, models wanted, to the goal I’m aiming for a few years from now – a team of girls led by 5 prominent personalities and personal brands, who have a regular online show with a major sponsor, while also doing appearances and independent promotions.

Allow me to build out my fantasy because this is how I work, how I think, but visualising, and trying to picture pathways to get to that possibility.

Given that my models and promo girls would only probanly be working 2-3 days a week, they could easily have other opportunities going. But isn’t one girl going to totally breakthrough? Become an actress on shortland st., marry an all black, or do something big? Well one day one of my girls may outgrow me and I can live with that.

What if a TV channel came to me and said, we love your idea! What’s my idea? Well okay then. Maybe even like a Flight of the Concords except with 5 hot girls instead of 2 dawky guys but yes, I play the manager, ad every week the girls get themselves

It’s sort of reality, but it’s sort of scripted, and it’s also kind of gonzo, if you know what that means? It’s like a report like a presenter would do except it’s more about the crazy situation the presenter gets into while getting the story.

So you could divide it up between the girls so two girls did a report while the other girls told a story, what kind of story?

Well you could do one where the girls try to become weather girls. I think you could do an episode about the girls becoming web cam girls, but it has a kind of a feminist twist, it’s about 5 girls making money out of the fact they are considered beautiful but we’re also dealing with the personal and feminist issues that creates.

Reality? Meet the boyfriend of one of the girls, and the other 5 of us say what we think, then months later when the air is cleared, do the bit! (good luck) You can do dating type stuff, there is so many ideas, what’s the central idea, what makes it work?

It’s amateur, it’s got interesting and beautiful girls in it, and you really dont know what bits are real, whats acted, and it’s . . . like american apparel, it’s sexual and exploitative but kind of ironic and confrontational. The main thing is the attitude of the girls, the girls take it seriously, they make decisions, it’s more than just catdaddy.

But we need to bridge the gap. We need to have this picture of where we want to go, mainly so we can build the steps. In a lot of ways I can’t help but feel that it’s really about meeting as many candidates as possible and working out quickly who has the right attitude. Once I have 1 or 2 girls who are good, the whole thing could catch alight.

step 1: we’re meeting models and promo girls and getting the content we need for basic promotion, how will we motivate them to get the mateiral we need? Pay them a few times for the video. We need to underline that we are helping them with this content.

Slowly I will reveal my plan to build this brand and promote them as part of it, and the possibilities that exist – ad revenue, sponsorship, appearance fees as well as their own bookings.

step 2: the girls are getting to 1000 hits on their videos and getting their websites set up, with professional services presented, again I have to outline the fact that I am doing this work free for them because I want to make in investment, and my plan is for a kind of a pyramid scheme, really, where new models getting involved are working for free to do the videos and the blogs and the photoshoots they need to get their website done – or the can pay. Either way the money gets paid to the top girls, who can demonstrate what they are doing, and well basically feel it out for themselves, if they’re there and the arrangement is positive then the thing will move.

I just need to work to get it right, again it comes down to what I say to the girls to make them confident.

What happens when the first girl gets her website set up? She needs to already have a sense of what is happening, that the thing may take years to grow, but every girl that comes along is making it stronger.

step 3: once we have 5, we implement a tiered system, so it’s as I say, more impetus is on the new girls to establish themselves. They have to earn their wings – get their own website, and be doing regular uploads, because I can then only focus on the girls with the sites, who are expecting to work.

I will pay them something, but I have to have some ideas of what kind of promo videos would motivate people to book this work.

A video production, an appearance, promo girl work etc. I’d have to level with the girls and say that for a year to come it may be just about making our videos every week. My aim would be to do about 3 afternoons of 4 hours, 2-3 girls a piece, how much would that be? 3 hours? $400 for 3 sessions, you’re aiming to get 10 videos out of that, 10k hits, $30, but then that could be $30 p/week.

I think you’ve just got to try. I’ve got experience and I’ve got passion for what I’m doing.

I think I need to be honest and say to these girls that it’s all about giving it a shot. You can’t expect results within months, I think we really just have to be honest and if the girls don’t like it well too bad. I’ve got to tell them it’s about fun and experience and if in a year they’re making money then they are well on their way.

But I’ll tell the girls that they have to be working. They have to do a days work for $50 because that’s the only way we’ll get this happening. It’s not pretty, but that’s the work involved. But as I say, I can’t rely on video income, that’s foolish, if people are watching the videos, we have to make other services available. Have a newsletter and all that internet marketing stuff.

The videos at first will probably revolve around the girls effort to get work. We could build there characters this way through early interviews about what they will and will not do and why.

If I have to hustle for my girls I will, I’ll spend the money. 3 hours with 3-5 hot girls to come to your party or appearance, event I mean, workplaces, film it, and take photos. Double whammy. You sell the photos, the youtube vid, the dvd, and the girls for 3 hours to be charming and friendly, and pose for pictures, that has got to be worth $500, but we’ll make it $395. I think after a dozen, we can easily put it up to $600, and as soon as the demand kicks in $800.

But eventually to turn up with a dozen girls and charge $2000, putting $800 in my pocket, I’d be happy!

I haven’t even talked fairy stuff.

So anyway 3 main avenues.

- youtube
- appearances
- video production

and fairies
It all kind of feels like the same thing, so we need to be clear so that the girls can be confident in what I’m doing, so that’s why I keep writing here!

I have a unique approach that perhaps isn’t perfect for everyone it’s a non traditional approach but it’s about having an instinct for business, picking up the trail and going in for the kill – so to speak.

In terms of my relationship with models, talent, promo girls – I’m more like a coach than an agent. I don’t get work for you, I help you with all the things you need to do to give yourself a chance at winning this, I don’t go out and win it for you. Believe me, you’d rather have me on your side, because I’m certainly not sexy enough to give any hot models competition!

I build websites and those websites advertise services. If you feel you can provide services doing the following then I can help you build a website that helps you offer these services:

- modelling
- promo girl (appearing at and promoting events etc.)
- video presenter
- glamour model

But wait, there’s more – this is not my main business, this is a fun and glamourous idea I thought to but my skills and experience to. I already have several promotions situations that are available, so not only am I helping you to get work, but I periodically have the opportunity to create work for you myself, but this tends to be the following:

- music videos
- youtube video presentations
- childrens entertainment

With each girl that comes to me interested in modelling or promo girl jobs, first it’s about getting some shots and doing a photoshoot but I also want the video of the model plugging herself, plugging the modelling agency, and video production and presentation, we may think of some other simple stuff.

The more content, the more videos you can come up with the more chance you’ve got of establishing yourself, so we need to be thinking about how we can get the most value out of 30 seconds, make 10 stupid impromptu videos and keep 1 to go up on youtube.

Then it’s more important to do the profile, understand what the model can do, their interests, etc.

Once I’ve got some photos and some video that’s okay, good enough to get established – which could be two shoots because we need some different outfits we need different vibes, if you’re willing to do underwear and swimwear we need that to happen sooner than later.

then I want to get to know you. Maybe that sounds a little invasive potentially but this is kind of the industry, if I can’t get in and find out what makes you tick, what drives you, what you’re about, what brings the best out of you, how are we going to make a brand for you that sells? This isn’t meant to happen in an instant but I want to see models and promo girls wanting to bring this out, the fierce, the character, personality, whatever.

So the next shoot you’re doing a video specifically tailored to the model, music video stuff, fairy stuff, and your broaching the subject of sex appeal.

How do you use sex appeal to make money? Well you start with a music video but then you do a series of videos meant to be titillating.

Start with dancing in underwear . . . wait think kate upton catdaddy, you want to get 50 million hits and make $100,000? Well there’s a good place to start. To start. You gotta start throwing some paint at the canvas and see what sticks – this is where it comes down to me finding out more about the models and promo girls and what they can do beyond the catdaddy.

By then we should have an idea, but it’s important to keep trying different things, pushing yourself, I’m here to motivate you. How are you going to get peoples attention? We need great content to launch your website with, a great intro video, great shots, and you need to be ready to be blogging or whatever it is that you’re going to do to keep getting yourself out there.

This is the stuff we need to have available to the people who want to pay to see you reperesent their product, or for you to build a brand that gets recognised traction that is what the business is built on.

So I like to make clear, I’m trying to make partnerships happen here. Girls who want to be models or promo girls or get modelling jobs, modelling work with a modelling agency, I don’t promise to turn people into stars, I’m offering you a chance to work with me so that you can out forward and image and a brand and I can help you develop that into a career in the ways I know how.

We have to work together to get great photos, a great website, a great brand and most importantly to get some really great modelling videos and videos for models up on youtube and online because that’s where people can quickly start seeing you enough times that it begins to matter, and open doors.

There’s two ways now, sure you can impress the people at the top, but maybe you just need a enough people pushing you up from the bottom! That means getting on youtube, getting your website up and getting out there.

What are good ideas for videos we can do with our promo girls? What is the strategy for development you’re laying out here?

Well I’ve got this model – a concept that at the moment we’re taking in as many girls as are interested in auckland modelling or auckland promo girl jobs and we’re just trying to get established.

What are the main money spinners? Well promo videos on youtube, because we can not only make our own videos that get hits and provide advertising, but we can market our video presentation and production services to customers around the world.

If we were getting 30,000 hits and doing 1 or 2 promo videos a week there would be $2000 in the kitty to dish out and we’d have something going.

How do we get there, busy busy work doing lots of videos, I need a 100 videos up there each getting 300 youtube views a week.

The ideas for these videos could be absolutely anything, the ideas it to make so many, make 10 and throw 9 away, and do that twice a week, so you’ve got the content moving.

I did have a thought because it’s about commitment before we build the site. Goal 1 is to either get a video to 1000 hits, or get a gig doing video presentation booked through our clients.

The fairy thing will come in too, if an actress can play the part of the fairy for childrens stuff, a whole other avenue opens up.

We can’t really push the appearances thing and video ad service without the brand. We have to bring 3 – 5 models or promo girls to the point they have their own website, they have at least one video with 1000 hits, they have a blog they write once a week, the have a video production presentation, they have a page going over all their services, they have a twitter and facebook thing going.

That is stage one. we are looking for no more than 5.

At the point we can begin to change the arrangement and let girls know they are on a waiting list, but we have a package for the website and video, social media etc. for $1000. Just like that. I might organise a junior 5 who do the same job for half the price, but really I need to encourage those new girls to do some of the legwork themselves, or meet them quickly and go from there.

Be frank with them and tell them, what we’re developing is exciting, we’ve got 5 main girls, and there is a waiting list to take those positions and get the opportunities that mean a career for you. Do you want to become an local internet celebrity? Now I’ve got girls providing free material, and possibly paying as the thing builds.

Then back to our 5 girls making a video and a blog every week, and hoping to get work, but they can’t so first, we get ready to launch our appearances services and the general promo girl thing.

Then we work on a video presentation package, I’m going to have to break it down to these girls that they have to do the work up front, if they want a show and the opportunity to take off, they are going to have to do appearances, promo girl stuff, etc for $20 p/hour until the demand is there.

Well if we charge $600 and the main girl gets $90, and 4 and 5 get $60 and I get $300 except i could be paying up to $100 in costs, I think everyone would be happy to do 3 hours, for the first year, and if we could get 50,000 views a week of 300 vids, the main girl would cop $225 just from that.

It would already be a good money spinner for me under those terms, so I may think about being more judicious in reinvesting into the company to make sure my best girls are being looked after.

So let’s just review this shall we?

1st goal is getting as many girls making videos as possible, but slowing paring back the commitment to each successive girl so that the impetus is on them to meet the minimum requirements to set up a website. Our initial idea for this is to keep them blogging, doing photo sets and videos until they get one with 1000 hits. I don’t care how they do it, that’s the requirement, and I think once we have our first 5, the requirement may leap to 2000 or more, 5000 even.

2nd goal is getting 5 websites set up for 5 different girls once we have the 5, it’s more about establishing the quality of a tight crew, and having some understudies who happily become a rent a crowd. The second phase is building appearances off the back of the videos and websites.

- appearances at events, promo girl stuff
- appearances at parties, rent a crowd of hot girls
- youtube ads, ads for businesses

So we’re trying to pitch these kind of gigs for $5-600 for the full compliment, but also pushing those videos out, this phase may take a year, 50 weeks of 10 videos a week and 1 modelling gig or promo girl job, appearance fee, and it may be hard at first keeping a team together in such a way, until you get a profile actually moving for the team you’ve got.

Well things are moving again around here and I just wanted to jot down some of my ideas about plans!

Plans are important, you don’t just sit around and wake up one day and you’re a model, and I love a good plan. A plan is all about how you’re going to get from one step to another to accomplish your goal, but often in creating a plan, well for me anyway, I start to get a sense of . . . is this doable?

I got this far with the website and now getting lots of girls coming through, but to give the girls confidence, I’ve got to be confident about my ideas without relying on telling a bunch of lies about getting girls into work when that’s not what I do!

What do I do?

Well I build websites and I do video, and perhaps more importantly, I have a good all over grasp of how online business works. What does that mean?

Well we use your website, your blog, youtube etc. to get your profile up, so that different opportunities become available. We have to do some work to meet the standard there.

First you want that website and some videos that just look really good. We need to meet up a few times so you can get some shots, get some video, get some profile work done so we can show people how you’re going into this, what you’re going after.

What do I mean? Well there’s what you want to do, and then there’s what’s right for your particular look and skills. One thing is for sure, if you don’t make the play, you won’t win the game, we need to put something out there so we can start getting feedback. I need know more about you to make better decisions about what aspects of what you offer are going to appeal to clients.

But at the centre of it, great website, great videos, blow people away, make the guy who makes the decisions say, hot damn, we need her!!!

You want the bad news from someone who knows online promotions? You have to keep improving your website, doing better videos and doing more photos, it’s an endless slog, to stay fresh, stay relevant, keep taking those shots (literally).

You need to be blogging, making your own media. You want a career? You need a brand?

You need to hear this: There are LOTS of pretty girls out there, and men love pretty girls, they can’t differentiate between one pretty girl, all the girl with personality and a brand that made it.

MY ULTIMATE DREAM GOAL

It’s important to have a goal.

What’s my ultimate goal? Can I paint a picture?

We have about 5 main girls who make up some kind of branded team. The team have little youtube adventures and sell a package for appearances and videos, again, starting off at say $1000, and going up as demand increases. The website and youtube advertising might make some money too, and soon enough that garners enough attention to start sustaining more interest in appearances.

But you’ve got to keep looking at the goal. What’s the goal? Doing 2-3 appearances and cracking $3k+ a week. An appearance could mean basic promo girl stuff, it may mean turning up at a party, it may mean doing a video, we’d have a variety of packages.

I believe that a kid should be able to order 5 hot friendly girls to come to their 21st for $700, but what if you could take it further? Like sure you pay 5 hot girls $100 each to hang out at a party and make a bunch of dawky dudes feel like they’re having crazy fun with hotties. But what about oh, say, 8. That’s starting to be a few, I mean you can pay them $80 each. But I’m talking about an instant party, like you need 12 hot girls, but you think you can make that into a business?

Isn’t that what promo girls are? Okay sure, but we need to access new markets. What sad dudes 21st couldn’t be made awesome by 12 hot girls turning up for 2-3 hours to flirt with all the dudes? Maybe I have to build that package up.

It’s about having options and finding out what works.

But we’d want to be sponsored for our weekly video to the tune of $1000 an episode, if 20k people watched it you’d expect $2k really. All the combined web income should be a grand to.

So you’ve got appearances, sponsors, and advertising, and you’re pulling in $6k. $1k for your expenses, $500 for each girl, for about 4 half days work.

Then we get our modelling academy going. $100 p/week and they get basically to have a website and do videos and be in the junior group who are groomed to be stepped up into the main 5 spots. Or there’s a main 3, and second 2, and a 3rd 2.

We could sell a subscription package for $100 p/week, or we could sell a one off package for $1000, which could be sold as another kind of appearance.

So make it more modest, 3 appearances for $2k, sponsorship and ads bringing in $1k, you give the girls $250 each for 10 hours work. $500 expenses, I get a fair bit. Pull it back again, 2 appearances and ads add up to $1000, 3 girls, 6 hours work, give them $500. Split it.

Work it as a share basis. I get 50%, girls get %50, then as we expand I get 40%, Main 3 girls get 40% (15 + 12.5 + 12.5?) and the next 2 girls get 10% each. So if your profit was $2k, I’d get $800, the main girls $266, and the lesser girls $200

3 appearances and a video shoot, 10 hours work,

The sliding pay scale gives me an idea, of having a ranking system that allows the girl with the highest ranking to take the biggest slice of the pie. That’s something we can look at further down the line. What we want is 2 or 3 girls who get that this has layers – first all the dudes want to ogle them, then advertising and sponsorship gets involved, and then you have a brand established that starry eyed girls who want to be models or promo girls – as well as horny boys buy into

What kind of videos can you make with a bunch of sexy promo girls? You could get them to all get drunk in their underwear I guess. But we want stuff that’s more socially titillating. That girls will watch too. Take 3 girls out and ask guys to try their best lines to win a prize. There are plenty of ideas to be brainstormed, the idea here id having a clean line of how we’re going to build that.

It has been a bumper show season for Australian models, there were a whopping 38 Aussies walking over fashion month, many of them opening, closing (not to mention stealing) shows.

The story of the Australian invasion of international catwalks has been brewing for months and this season it hit boiling point. The best coverage of the Aus model explosion is on Frockwriter where Patty Huntington’s diligently updated Australian model runway tally has become the ultimate go-to for model-twitchers. If you’re curious, its a must read.

For those less versed in the art of mannequining (as opposed to modelising, which is something different again), here’s a handy cheat sheet to some key types of models we saw on the runways this season.

The superstars:

Abbey Lee Kershaw, Catherine McNeil, Miranda Kerr

These girls are household names, and while they don’t walk as many of the shows as some of the less established models, the ones they do walk are always blue chip, and you can bet their rate of compensation has an extra 0 on the end. This season, Abbey Lee Kershaw walked in 30 shows across London, Milan and Paris. In London she was the biggest star of the lot, opening Tom Ford and Pringle of Scotland, while in Paris she closed Mugler, Yves Saint Laurent and Balmain.
After a year off the runway, Catherine McNeil was back in fine form, closing Jean Paul Gaultier in Paris, and walking for avant-gardians like Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens and Haider Ackermann.
Meanwhile, Miranda Kerr, who is no stranger to the Paris runways, having walked exclusively for Balenciaga for several seasons, finished up her monogamous trotting and instead went poly for big names like Chanel, Lanvin, Stella McCartney, Dior and Victor & Rolf.

The runway workhorses:

Julia Nobis, Ajak Deng, Ruby Jean Wilson

The reining queen of the every-show ever this season is Julia Nobis, who is miraculously still standing after an insane 72 shows, which by many’s reckoning makes her the busiest model of any nationality on the catwalks. The runway workhorses have been around for at least three seasons and are still going strong, booking scores of shows in every city. This season Ruby Jean Wilson did particularly well, upping her show count to 27 after exclusive outings in Paris and New York in her SS11 debut, and a New York-only stint at the winter showings kept her tally down in previous seasons. Ajak Deng is also going strong, this season she walked in 15 shows in New York, London and Paris, opening the hot-ticket Mary Katrantzou presentation in London.

The newbies:

Rose Smith, Codie Young, Caitlin Lomax, Melissa ‘MJ’ Johannsen, Amanda Ware, Chrystal Copland

An article about some of the models making it big in modelling and fashion shows in and from australia

// ]]>

Though they only set foot on the international runways for the first time this year, making their debuts either last season, this fashion month, or at the couture and cruise collections in-between, these up and comers are already clocking serious runway milage. Rose Smith, Codie Young and Dempsey Stewart in particular have made astonishing numbers of bookings, with Smith walking 40 shows on the back of Fendi and Chanel exclusives last year, Stewart walking 42 shows last season and 38 this time around, and Young landing a very respectable 35 shows at the Spring/Summer presentations. Caitlin Lomax is also having a stellar season, having already shot the Prada resort lookbook, she stepped out for both Prada and MiuMiu.

The personalities:

Bambi Northwood Blythe, Tallulah Morton, Andrej Pejic

There’s something a little unusual about the personalities; something that stands out. Although this means they often do not book as many shows as their comrades, when they do walk, they shine. Bambi Northwood-Blythe at 5′8 scored an it-billing this season by walking alongside Abbey Lee and an all star cast at Kanye West, while Tallulah came to town just for Jean Paul Gaultier. And then there’s Andrej, who although he only walked three shows this season (he opened two of them), was still one of the most in demand boys about town in Paris, with fans flocking to him for photos where ever he went.

Alright today on Marketing Talent we have an interview with Shelby Babakioff – Shelby is a musician and a model, and she’s promoting herself online at her website, so go along and check it out because basically, what I like about shelby is not only is she hot, obviously – with tonnes of picture sets to check out and get ideas from, and also a big emotional sound in her voice, but she has a cool website for fans to check out.

Because shelby is a musican also and that comes through really strongly on her site, it brings a really distinct vibe to her site. If one of my clients was coming from a music angle, a bluesy, emotional angle, a rock and roll angle, with a product they woanted to push they would see this site and would probably say “We want her!”.

Of course they would, this is the importance of getting started with a website to promote yourself.

Doing free websites for models, actresses, musicians wanting to kick off is one of the main things we do at marketing talent. You work with us on your site, start picking up some traction and we know you’re ready for the next stage of using online promtion to develop your profile and use a strong brand to break in to a career as a model, actress, performer . . . whatever works for you.

So moving right along I put some questions to Shelby because there’s 2 things we’re doing here to help each other which is at the foundation of good online promotion – writing and publishing your blog regularly, and, because I’ve provided a link to Shelby’s site for her, that will help her get better rankings, found more on google, and more fans and interest in her website.

This is part of my job working with models, helping you to get articles, photos, links, videos out there so you have a brand you can work.

But enough about my job let’s talk to shelby about her experience in the industry!

So in some of your shots you’re like a ring girl and have done bikini contests, how do you feel about showing off your body for guys?

I get so extremely nervous! Showing that much skin for anyone is so nerve racking. I just love being on stage, putting on a show, entertaining. I love being uncomfortable…it gets me off. I believe though, that beauty comes in all shapes and all sizes..and that’s why I was intrigued in getting involved in modelling. I grew up around many people who had eating disorders and so on and so forth…I just want people to know that muscular girls like myself can make finals in bikini contests…be ring girls…etc. You don’t need to be stick thin, you need to be healthy and have charisma.

What’s your experience as a model, what were the challenges and what would say to a girl wanting to get into it?

I haven’t had too much experience being a model. From what I’ve learned though, my advice would be always stay true to your morals and your self. Sounds cheesy, but really. I refuse any nudity at this point in my career…and it’s always offered to you…for pay or no pay….but people want scandalous…and I just won’t give them that.

Your music sounds like it’s definitely more serious and thoughtful where does this fit with your image as being all hot and stuff?

Music and modelling are two totally different things for me. Music will always come first. Always. It comes from within…it’s a gift and a talent. I write about my personal experiences, and also make stuff up. A good songwriter doesn’t have to go through the shit to write about it, ya know? My music definitely is deep, sometimes dark, and very serious. If I didn’t know any better, I might think I was depressed (haha). I love composing horns, strings, and guitar licks. The lyrics and melody – the raw form of a song-and the performance, are how I truly express myself though. As for modelling, it’s honestly more for fun. Another form of expressing myself, embracing my charisma, and meeting wicked people. Music is my passion, modelling is a hobby. You never know who you might meet; after all, it’s pretty much the same industry;)

How do you think people respond to your music and the way you look? Do people want a “barbie with the blues”?

A Barbie? Why thank you. HA! I think? I can’t say I agree. I’m blonde and born that way…and I am truly one of the happiest people I know…But all the dark demons and hard times come out in my music. It’s to relieve myself and try help and console people through my music, which, ultimately allows me to be as happy as I am. I want my fans to be able to relate to me..and if I can be there for them and get someone through a really tough time just through voice, melody or lyric..then my job is done! I wouldn’t be surprised if people are hatin’ ‘cuz I am not their typical pop princess and they want me to be ‘cuz they think I fit that better. But I don’t care what they think..I’m more of a little edgy rocker than anything, and I’d rather fulfil my own life than fake my way to eventually never, no matter what, even come close, to EVER satisfying anyone else’s life haha

WHo are you influenced by in your performing style and your creative influence?

As far as genres and styles go….my influences are Southern/Country Rock, Blues, R&B, Pop.

My performing style would be a mix of Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood and any edgy rockers. Think head banging with a bit of bootie. Dramatic. ANY 80’s: Roxette..Heart…(the whole pop belt)

Creative influences are definitely Eminem..all around..hands down. I am also in love with Jessie J, Whitney Houston, Beyonce, TLC, and Johnny Cash and June Carter.

Also, I played tons of Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Yes in college, and I found my performance style by jamming their tunes. Again, being hyper active on stage..head banging and booty shaking while jamming with a bunch of smelly dudes. It was fabulous.

I see you do some traditional covers, is that just for the money, how do you feel about that?

It’s never really about the money…

I have done, and still do, so many free gigs it’s quite sickening. It’s about connecting with your audience by doing what you love, and of course..trying to make a living eventually. Any chance I get to sing Cryin’,Undo It,or Highway Star…I’m there! It’s also important to do covers when you’re just starting out in the business, so people can relate. Guarantee you’ll get a bigger following mixing originals and covers to start.

What are your aims in music and performance? Are you out for stardom or are you going to keep doing it anyway?

I will always do what makes me happy..performing on stage. Whether I am dancing, singing, or working’ the cat walk..I was born to do it. It’s what gets me off. I feed off of people’s energies. I want to make a living doing my thing, so yes, I want to reach a point in my life where I don’t have to serve in a restaurant and play the poor waitress part anymore, and just have solid income from entertainment alone. Stardom would be an honour to achieve…but if I don’t top the charts, I will never stop living my dream through my music, even if it’s just a hobby or a side job.

Where did you grow up, what was that like?

I grew up in good ol’ Salmon Arm, BC. Such a small town girl…

It was incredible. Everyone is down to earth, and I could walk anywhere and smile at everyone and they would smile back. In the city, they look at you like you’re some kind of alien. “Why is this chick so happy all the time??….”

I loved convoying up the mountain for big bon fire parties and dancing on the hoods of trucks, mud boggin’ and camping…ah the good life!

Have you got a boyfriend?

Just recently. He’s a stand up guy!

Have you had any weird crazy or interesting experiences performing or modelling you could tell us?

Oh my gosh. I have a few train wrecks I could tell you about. Hmm…wardrobe malfunctions? Traumatic experiences due to illness?

Should I or shouldn’t I….

EMAIL NICEYOUNGLADIES@GMAIL.COM IF YOU’RE INTERESTED IN OUR FREE TALENT MANAGEMENT SERVICES.

I’ve got a lot of big plans for what I want to do at marketing talent, but the way I’m doing things, there’s a certain approach – that is taking time to test the water, see what works. My skills are in management and online promotions and marketing, I am not an agent who gets on the phone and hustles all his contacts – I can’t make you a star overnight.

But what I do offer is an open an honest chance to work together – I’ve helped bands build their profile and income online and connecting them with earning opportunities, I can’t see how model management could be much harder. I can build you a profile and an income but I am not an agent, I can’t pick up the phone and get you a casting.

Why do I want to manage models now? You know the answer. Because it’s glamourous. We’re the same, we want the high life. Bands are all very well and good, but the reality is everybody loves hot chicks.

You may not be put into a paid job for 6 months. This is reality. But I will never ask you to pay for anything. This in not one of those scams where I get you to fork out for photos and portfolio stuff, if we have to I will cover it, but that’s all part of the arrangement we have to come to. You’re not signing any contract to me, we can walk away. I’m not your agent, if you get work through a 3rd party then the money is all yours. But I own your website, that’s the catch.

I am committed to learning how to help models build a profile online so they can get paid to do the work they aspire to. If you want to be a model, promo model, promo girl, actress, socialite, whatever, you need to decide what you want.

Are you going to take this seriously as a career and have you thought about where your boundaries lie and choices dictate?

What I mean is that if you’re getting into this, you should think about what you’re prepared to do and why. My skills are broad so what do you want to do? Spend 6 months building a unique personal brand that targets your professional focus, or do you just want work as soon as possible even if it’s handing out flyers in little shorts at a car show?

This is what you have to decide – what you’re comfortable with and how that fits into a long term plan, because really this can only be a good investment if you approach it long term.

So there’s 2 parts to our conversation:

What do you want to do, and what can I offer you?

I offer you a no strings attached opportunity to work with me so we can both build experience. I will get your photos done, I will get video done, I will develop your website and opportunities for you to make income this way, if I can see you’re committed to the requirements of making this work.

You need blogs, you need to be posting new pics every week, you need to do videos, I can help you, but getting started is on you. I need to see that you’re worth investing my time in. Every week you need to be blogging about something that gives you a unique voice – we have to target your future audience.

I will help you do a music video for one of your first projects. You won’t be paid for this, because it’s on me to organise the video and materials for you – this is part of the commitment you have to make to establishing a brand, us building a decent website for you, and knowing where we’re going with this – where your strengths are and where you could then go on to establish an income.

It’s no different to managing a band except YOU are the brand. Your glamourous, beautiful sexy brand is created to help people – our clients – sell stuff. So if we create a certain vibe, a certain image for you, that can connect with one of our clients products or brands.

Do you want to dream for a second? What if a big client found your website and realised you were a perfect fit for their product? We already have the clients who want help getting positive associations (IE hot models) with their product. All you and I need to work out, is how we use your website to sell it. If this is the direction you choose to go.

From my experience with bands – every band is different and their audience is different, you’re the same. Your look, your interests, your brand as a model will appeal to certain consumers and that’s what clients looking for a marketing advantage want.

I’m not really focused on fashion at all because not only is the industry very established and traditional, but they have a very rigid and established set of values when it comes to what they are looking for in a model. They’re looking for girls who are exceptionally naturally skinny and tall, with an interesting, arresting look, rather than a traditionally soft, feminine beauty.

I only mention it because just today I got our first proper advertising deal, paying $50 p/week for a fashion brand to advertise on one of our models blogs. That’s basically $50 that i will split 50/50 with the model, just for one small ad and she doesn’t lift a finger. I’ll just add an extra $100 to the pay out she’d be getting each month from a variety of sources on her site, and that’s without even taking a booking!

Hi I’m Matt, I’ve been working in entertainment and marketing for almost a decade now, and it turns out the next stage of my journey is something very exciting: managing promo girls and models! If you’re an auckland model or are looking for promo girl jobs auckland, why don’t you talk to me about what I’m doing because I do stuff like setting up websites, photo shoots, video shoots and get you work FOR FREE – but not for long! Once I’ve got the model talent I need it’s going to be a lot harder to get in.

So what’s the catch? I own your website. That’s the only catch. I’m happy to talk to you about what all that means and how it all works so drop me a line:

niceyoungladies@gmail.com

So say tomorrow I wake up and I’m a sexy teenager! Nice dream, huh? What I’m trying to say – to talk about today is to be a little bit more straight up about the business we’re in here, and the business between myself and the models and promo girls I work with, because it is a business deal. But also because I deal with young women, I want expectations to be realistic.

I’m putting myself on the line so to save my wasted effort, being honest and realistic I think is the best way. A lot of girls want to become a model or get jobs as a promo girl, or something similar. You want a job we’re being young and attractive does the work for you and why not? If I woke up tomorrow as a sexy teenager I would want to make it easy on myself, it’s only the smart thing to do.

Pity most young people aren’t that smart, and older people prey on their inexperience and hopefulness – it happened to me! Guys my age now I looked to for wisdom when I was 19, most of them were playing with my good nature for their own advantage – and I wasn’t even sexy! Sex appeal is power. People just like me could be wanting to take advantage of you.

It has to be said, because you have to be aware. A lot of people talk a lot of dreams just to get you excited. Me, I’m just a guy who does marketing and makes websites online, I worked with heaps of musicians, and I don’t see modelling and being a promo girl as being any different from managing a band in a lot of ways – it’s just a lot easier to get people interested in a pretty girl than another bunch of muso’s with big dreams.

That doesn’t make me an expert but I think it means that I can help. I’ve been successful in online promotion up until now – working in model management, talent management and promo girl work I don’t see it being any different, except I need experience working with you girls!

A lot of young people want to get out there, they want to take on the city, they want to take on the world – they have the enthusiasm, but they don’t have the experience, I wonder if young models knew how much work was ahead of them, whether they would still want to be big stars? I found it all the time with musicians, it didn’t really soak in how hard they would have to work to be better than the next guy who wanted it more.

But I’m talking about making an impact. A lot of young people want to make something of themselves in the world, and a pretty girl is no different. Why not speak plainly? Why not be honest?

The tragedy is a lot of good looking girls are young and they don’t really know how to work with what they’ve got. I take my situation very seriously, and I pride myself on being honest. My goal is to build a partnership with perhaps about half a dozen models who work with me. Many models I work with will move on to better things, and some will not be up to the task. That’s the way it is. As long as I’m upfront with the girls about what help I can offer then I’m acting in the best interest of our models and promo girls.

In my mind, there isn’t another opportunity like this because I’m just starting out – I have had a succesful run with managing online marketing for bands and other brand’s now I am working with models and promo girls and that is your opportunity to contact me now while the opportunity exists.

Email me – niceyoungladies@gmail.com – send pictures, tell me where you are and let’s arrange to talk.

At first I want to see that you can work with me to get your website off the ground. But also I want to get you in front of the video camera because youtube presentations is one of the main forms of work we do through my personal promotions and management company and so it is the best way I can get you working professionally sooner. I am looking for models, promo girls and actresses in auckland with charisma for video production and video presentations online.

I want to get your online brand looking about right, and then see what you can do before I really start to help you because I want to work with models and actresses who want this. It’s my hard work too! Initially, you’ll have to find your feet by blogging, I’m here to support you, not do it for you. If you can’t upload so new pics of yourself and chat for 300 words about something interesting then maybe you’re not cut out for building a brand this way – that’s okay I am only looking for 3-6 sexy auckland models who can, and to be completely honest with you, I hope I’m smart enough and you’re hot enough so we can get rich!

How’s that for a plan?

Back to the details – step 1 I’ll build you a website – you have to show me you can keep it updated.

Online promotion is a different world, but there’s no doubt the world is increasingly moving online and as some traditions stay the same there will still be countless auditions for the top end modelling and promotions contracts but from the bottom up, just as it has blasted apart every other industry, there will be new opportunities available for models and promo girls online.

How do you make a difference? How to you stand out? Well the first thing is being there, is being able to be found, that’s why we start off at this talent agency getting websites set up for you – free – and open that access point to the world and to the industry that you are there – now show them what you can do! Your website is your platform to prove you can do the work that’s required.

What’s required? Well what can you do, what do you want to do and what’s your strength? If you don’t have experience then your website is your opportunity to find your strengths and explore them – remember I’m an online marketing and promotions guy so I practice what i preach – it’s what I’m doing right now talking about what we’re doing at marketing talent.

You can see I’ve built a website and added a video, and I’ve already got things like a newsletter and products down the side of the page here that if people buy, I get paid, you can probably see the advertsing too.

These are all ways in which websites can pay off if you’re looking to make a splash with your personal brand as a model / promo girl / actress etc. But you’ve got to bring a certain brand to your website, that’s what will make you stand out – you’ve got to use that video space, the blogging space, upload pics and really make your website feel like something unique.

We’re all in the same boat with online promo. I’m doing the same, you’ve got to grind and hustle to get your spot and I’m doing this because I know from experience, building your website is a sure way to make sure overtime you’re presence is progressing, developing, reaching more people in the most effective ways. Most people who visit your site may not mean anything, but some will look at the ads, or buy products, or become your fans in one way or another through facebook or newsletters, until eventually those people who do matter, who are creating opportunities are going to know who you are.

We help develop your personal brand so that people who have opportunities for you to work can see instantly where you fit and for what kind of work. I will always suggest you have videos to show your presenting skills because this is one of the main things I require that led me to want to get involved with talent. The market for cheaply produced online video is only going to keep growing and your ability to perform in presentations and demonstrative videos for our clients is most likely the quickest way you’ll get good paying work.

Of course this kicks off the cycle, the more people who see your work, the more likely you’ll be specifically requested, and yo can look at charging more if the demand is high. More people will be coming to your website, the ads will be worth more, you’ll sell more stuff directly, it all keeps winding on. Remember while you’re working, we keep building your brand and your website.

It’s part of my plan to eventually have a very select, small, tight group of our best performers and talent who have a very strong brand that can eventually be used to promote various products through full endorsement deals.

I would love to have a full time job making crazy youtube videos as advertisements for a big company like V energy drink with a team of models! That’s my little dream, just to put that out there!

But back to it – yes this is online promotion because the future is online, you need your free website we set up for you and to start building your brand with pics, videos and blogs, just like I’m doing right here – I know what I’m doing!

Often I’m talking on Marketing Talent here about models and promo girls hopes and dreams and going on about how competitive it is and how the way we work puts you into an entirely different type of competition in an online environment, compared with traditional modelling and promo girls paths.

But today I thought I would talk about my own aims in getting into it.

This could end up a video post. There’s two parts to it – there’s the business side and the glamour.

From the business side, I have previously worked with musicians mainly, much more than with models, glamour models, promo girls, but because my expertise is in online promotion I quickly noticed a pattern, and I am a man afterall. I know this is extremely obvious but if you think of most circumstances where a promotions or marketing message is trying to convey to the audience glamour, glee, excitement and thrill, they use a beautiful young woman to do it.

Our culture is obsessed with images and it’s obsessed with stories and in this way, beauty and music are both aesthetic commodities that can be leveraged to help promotions audiences enjoy the promotions message. It goes deeper than just guys being drawn to and clicking on the hot picture of the girl.

But this is why there is a demand in the field I work in – mainly small organisations from around the world who want to use video and online media to push a message and they need hot models and promo girls to do it.

I need girls who will wear not that much and will present short youtube videos on the most mundane of things. Yes we often do music videos and it’s kind of bad form to use the same girl for another band’s music video! But this is online business and thisis what gets me so excited. The possibilities!

Yes I’m attracted to the glamour. Y’know how they say “do something you love and you won’t work a day in your life?” well I’m a dude and I’ll be honest there’s only one thing I love more than music and that is pretty girls. I’m just being honest, I hope that doesn’t sound sleazy because the way I was brought up, with feminist ideals, I am extremely respectful of the women I’m working with and I even feel that I am a positive influence in helping them to decide how they want to negotiate these opportunities, what’s right for them, in a way that they can be comfortable with.

I’m not about contracts, the catch is out in the open – I own your website, I don’t own the models or the promo girls I work with.

What’s that about? It’s about the way I do business. I don’t want to bind any models or promo girls to me because my goals are long term, my aim is to have a core of 3-5 models who are my core clients, who are in demand because of their profile – like small, local versions of kim kardashian? Possibly, I guess, that’s my job to manage your public persona and personal brand, then combine that with my knowledge of how to turn attention into income.

Do I want to be like Andy Haden? Haha.

Well there’ll come a point where the value of the brand that I build for myself personally will swing, and there will be people willing to pay me to manage them in the same way I will have done for girld for years, from now until then.

As I’ve said, I can’t offer this service for free forever, at some point I will have 3-4 women who are my key partners in this venture, and from that point you’ll actually have to pay me.

But until then, I can’t charge hundreds of dollars just for my models and “it” girls to show up at a party, I can’t earn 4 figures just to put the girls in a silly youtube video promoting a product, I can’t make hundreds of dollars in advertising each week from all the horny dudes drooling over their sites.

For me to get to that point, I need to show that I can put girls into decent modelling work, and promo girl jobs, so they can stick with me and I’ll stick with them.

How do I do that? By drawing the strings of the internet together. I already work in music promotion and event promotion, and I am slowly building my video production company. I have already partnered with a young photographer so I have the resources in place. I have dozens of companies who are willing to work with me selling certain products directly, and as my video production site grows I believe there will be more regular and more lucrative

The opportunities are there and I bring them to the table. A lot of girls who contact me want to be models or they want $20+ p/hour to be promo girls who hand out flyers in little shorts. Those are worlds I have little experience in, but because the online world is my domain, I am not challenged greatly by the idea that it is easy enough to reach people once you can offer them the product.

I just need to be confident in what I am offering, and that is well – if you want to be model, glamour model, or promo girl – that’s you!

Again, ultimately I only need half a dozen girls to build this, before turning the business model inside out and charging new girls – working as a proper agency to develop talent.
