I see really exciting prospects for promo girls and models online looking for modeling jobs or work to become a model.

It’s very similar to the music industry which is where we’ve mainly worked for the last few years, except the issue is that in the current climate it’s harder for musicians to make money.

But it’s always been easy for a beautiful woman to make money because their alluring image when associated with products and services and brands wanting to increase exposure.

The thing is now, more than ever there are so many girls out there who want to become a model or get modeling work job as a promo girl, just like there are more bands and musicians than ever – everyone wants to be someone, trust me, we see it everyday, but they’re not prepared to put in the work to be someone. The musicians think they just have to have great music. Models and promo girls think that they just have to be sexy and gorgeous, well it’s much more than that now because competition is so firece, you’ve got to have unique character that you can convey to an audience with confidence enough that it compels them to really notice you amongst everything.

Just like music, the old foundations of the modelling indstry and promotions work will crumble as consumers and people who are in the position to elevate new modelling talent and promo girls to become a model.

I use that phrase promo girls because I know that a lot of girls come to this blog looking for that kind of work, but is wearing a short skirt or a pair of hot pants with the client or sponsors name plastered on your butt and handing out flyers for $20 really what you want to do right now?

I guess it’s a way for you to make money but wouldn’t you rather be building towards something much more glamourous and legitimate?

That’s the problem, right now we cant give you a promo girl job or lower level modeling jobs to give you a stable income, but as soo as we have a decent roster of models and we can do that, we will, but for now our focus is on those girls who want to work hard to build their brand now so that in a years time you’ve got a website that makes you $20 a day without even doing anything, and you’ve got people ringing you up wanting to give you decent money for decent work like $500 a day on a shoot,

Basically we’re running a whole different kind of modelling agency, theres no fees and no contracts that limit your options – it’s based on our more established business managing musicians and bands. It’s all about online exposure worldwide and online revenue opportunities which we’re familiar with.

If you’re going to do shoots with us and start moving up to serious work you’re going to need to be in Auckland, but initially, it’s about your commitment to providing us with content from you to develop your site, and learning about the ways you can make money there, then we can look at what kind of modeling jobs would be suitable for us to represent you as agents.

Basically what we do right now is 2 things: We build websites that make money and we carry out online marketing campaigns which include budget videos for clients etc.

So what we want to do with our models is develop personal websites that make money, have you available for working on campaigns we do in house, and then from that point where your website is established and you’ve done some work for us, we can represent you.

Because we have experience in PR and music long term we want to develop strong personal brands for our models which make them bankable. The commitment we ask from you is in providing the content we need to develop that brand.

We don’t have any contracts so you’re free to pursue any other work you’re offered. I look forward to hearing back from you if you’re interested.

First things first, I think it’s important that we have a stage name for you, it’s best for your own privacy and protection at this point.

Using 2 first names that you like and putting the together is as good as anything, but remember if something big were to happen, you’ll be stuck with it – maybe you just want to change your second name.

Are you interested in the idea of us building your profile in your hometown? Do you want to be considered an “it†girl in your hometown? Do you use a messenger, because I’d like to try out if it’s a good way of doing profile interviews.

If we can aim for one short interview and half a dozen or so pictures each week that’s a good start, then we’ll look at how to get you started on youtube, using social networking for promotion – basically once we have some good shots of you and at least one decent video, then we can look at the types of work that will be most suitable for you.

So in summary – we don’t want to use your real name for your own privacy and protection.

Next we’re going to need some better photos of you. What you’ve got is a good start and it’s better that you give us low quality shots then nothing, you’ll want to either work on getting better shots or eventually we’ll do some with you.

Then we need start trying out different ideas for your profile, the image thats going to sell you. Any ideas are welcome.

We are just the technical nerds and marketing geniuses who make it happen, we just need that all important ingredient – some irresistably gorgeous girls!

We’re in marketing. We know what works, unfortunately it’s quite straightforward, a beautiful girl is going to get a guys attention. Once we have their attention then we can sell advertising and run as many offers as you can think of through your site, sell stuff through your site, and we split the profits.

Simple as that, but you get the additional opportunity of being offered chances to get further work through your site, that’s how we act as your agent, although we’re happy to have people directly contact you – we suggest maybe we check out the work you’re being offered and the professional credentials of those offering the work before you rush into signing anything.

Here at Marketing Talent it’s exciting to see lot’s of applications coming in for modelling work, modelling jobs, promo girls wanted, models wanted etc.

Thanks for sending your pictures too – I’d like to make the point that we’re a completely different agency because we work online. To me it’s not really about whether you’re “hot” or not, it’s more about confidence and vibe. Sending a photo more than anything shows us you’re legit and you’re serious.

There are LOTS of hot girls out there but there’s a difference between a girl who is conventionally attractive and a woman who commands attention because she is alluring and unique in dimensional ways.

I am not a n expert in what makes up this quality, as I keep saying, their are plenty of things that I don’t know about in this business, and fashion is one of them.

If you’re tall and skinny and of that look, maybe you’d be better off with someone other than us because we know nothing about fashion. But the one thing I do know about is how to get business happening online.

The problem with that though is explaining it to all you girls who are interested in modelling careers, or earning money as promo girls or being the next Paris Hilton or Lauren Conrad or whatever.

There’s so much going on. On one hand theres our background in music and I can just say this – making money out of music is a whole lot harder than making money out of the fact that men simply can’t help themselves when it comes to pretty girls. It’s unfortunately true. Well actually quite fortunate because with our brains and your good looks we can go places.

I knew it would be easy to substitute what we do managing bands for being talent agents and modelling agents because when it comes to what we do it’s very similar: we build websites, we sell advertising, we promote products and take commissions, we build email lists, promote you on myspace, facebook, youtube etc.

Except for one big difference: because it’s a pretty girl and not some random band or musician it’s easy to get guys interested enough to come along and then it’s all on from then – it let’s us sell advertisng and it let’s us sell products directly marketed to men.

But then of course we also do our own video production for our clients and we need hot models and promo girls for that also! When we started doing our videos I realised even I could make money by presenting online videos for youtube in a confident manner.

But if we had a sexy promo girl or model for the job then I’m sure our clients would be willing to pay for this and that we’d have more clients lining up to use our services.

So finally it comes down to what we need from you. What I find is that a lot of girls new to modelling jobs don’t really have a direction. We need to find your direction, but we don’t want to push you into something you’re not comfortabble with we maintain if you want to model burqhas like middle eastern women where and show absolutely no flesh and post pictures of ponies to your website, that’s fine with us. As long as you’re going somewhere with it.

Granted there will not be that many men, or of our clients, and obviously industry people also who will likely be impressed by the stand out quality of your burqha and ponies, but that doesn’t m

That’s what I love about what we’re doing and the internet in general. We’ve got the marketing and we’ve also got the laws of nature, because all different kinds of men love all different types of women. All we need is you.

That fact that you’re lucky enough to be young and beautifil now is not something you should waste or take for granted. Being beautiful is not the most important thing in life but it’s something you should use while you can because it doesn’t last forever.

A lot of people want to be a model because it’s glamorous and sexy. However, it’s an extremely competitive and grueling business that will more likely break you than make you. Here are some cold, hard truths about becoming a model, as well as some realistic advice to make it happen.

Realize that there are qualities every model needs to have, depending on the type of model one wishes to become. Generally, any feature indicative of good health is a must–clear skin, a full head of hair, and overall symmetry. Other qualities such as height and weight depend on what you’re modeling. Consider working with a fitness trainer, especially someone who has a good reputation and experience with models. Tell them your modeling goals and how you’ll need your body to look.

Decide what kind of model you’d like to be. Technically, anybody can be a model. However, do remember that if you don’t meet certain requirements, the work available to you will be incredibly limited, and you may have to compensate in other departments (reliability, technique, etc).

• If you have large breasts but not very wide hips, you can be an underwear model.
• If you don’t fit any of the face or body descriptions, perhaps you can be a foot, hair or hand model.
• Consider your “look”. There is more of a curvy California look, a svelte New York look, a waif-like European look, girl next door, swim suit or lingerie (usually requires the bust to fill out the suits and a very thin waist)…Know what you’re equipped with, but also work to pull off other looks.

Get some photos done. These don’t have to be professional but they should be created for the purpose of showing your ability as a model. Although agencies say they are happy with snapshots, that doesn’t mean they want to see an out of focus shot of you out partying with your friends with a little note attached saying that you’re the one on the right! As a bare minimum, you will need one head shot and one body shot.

• Get your favorites and take the photos to be printed into 8×10s. Save these in case you are asked to leave a photograph anywhere before you have professional ones done. Don’t force these on people or try to hand them out. You’ll be better off waiting for the professional shots instead of taking risks with an amateur photo.
• Consider getting the photos professionally done. Professional photography, even if it is expensive, will give you a better idea of what kind of look you project. You will eventually need these photographs to snag an interview, so think of it as a worthwhile investment!

Be prepared. When you attend your appointment, they might ask you to pull certain faces like laughing, happy, sad, or seductive. Practice in front of a mirror beforehand. It may help to look at pictures of models in magazines to get an idea. Be ready to have a Polaroid close up of your face taken. You really only get one chance for this photo. They’ll use this to compare to your head shot. They will ask you to walk and take your measurements, so be prepared for all of that as well. Learn to accept rejection or criticism politely (see Warnings below). Thank the people for their time.

Be professional. Be polite and always turn up on time to any appointment or shoot. If you’re late or rude, word soon gets around and then nobody will want to work with you.

• Be organized! Models often get called off places at the last minute and have very busy days. You need to be on top of things if you want to succeed. Buying a day-to-day planner can really help.
• Confirm whether or not there will be a make-up artist on site for any work you are doing. 99 times out of 100 there will be one, but there may be the odd occasion
• where you are required to do your own make-up. If there is a make-up artist, then arrive fresh faced.
• Be truthful about your measurements. Don’t say you’re skinnier than you are just to get a shoot. Once there, the stylist will have problems and you will get found out. Word will get around and you could find yourself without a career!
• Treat modeling like a real job. Girls that don’t take it seriously have small chances of succeeding in their modeling career. Realize that it is harder than it appears and there’s a lot of work behind all that glitz and glamour at fashion shows.

Well I’ve got a few big ideas about the future of marketing talent but I had better have another much more sensible sounding post or I’m really going to end up sounding silly.

At some point there will be so many girls on our books that we really can’t give them all individual attention in developing their online profiles and generally marketing and promoting them online. We’ll still make the tools available so the right girls can rise through the ranks just by administering their own simple website according to our instructions but it will be at that point that I will want to focus on a selct group of girls who have shown the most promise.

Now there’s two ways that can work. The first is byintroducing a charge for personal management, that is if you need us to offer continuing marketing and promotion support to build your brand then on top of our commission we will introduce a small fee that some girls can pay in order to receive preferential attention.

But at the same time, there will be girls who offer the right skills and talents to find that they can make money and opportunities happen online, and that our investment into those girls of our time, resources and knowledge will generate good returns for our efforts.

It’s at that point we may form a small but specified group of girls that form a particularly strong brand together, and they become the basis of a project to take marketing talent to the next level, beyond a simple modelling and promo girl agency that provides online promotional services, to a fully functioning brand.

There was this group of girls I saw online that inspired me, basically they were just a bunch of sexy girls who read the weather each day, and they were sponsored by local businesses. It was simple, but I felt it was an idea that could be developed.

Bigger ideas than the weather, and big sponsors than the local panelbeaters. It was a good idea but it wasn’t much ore sophisticated than putting a unch of promo girls in a youtube video, but taken to the next level, with storylines, and characters that were our girls who had already slowly established their brands, it could easily become such compelling entertainment that more established brands would be willing to support it with sponsorship for the exposure, especially if we continue to find interesting ways to promote and emphasize the sponsors brand.
